The needs we are addressing can be broken out into 4 major categories:
Learn to Swim – we believe that swimming is a basic skill that all should know, esp. when we live on an Island. It’s a life saving skill.
Fitness – swimming is one of the best exercises for all ages and all body types.
Competitive swimming – this is a great motivator for all age groups. But brings folks together, help teach team work , etc
Rehabilitation – water exercise is great for therapy and rehabilitation.
However, to offer the needed programs we need a basic aquatics facility. These can be expensive to build and maintain. That is one of the main reasons this foundation was created. We will be keeping you up-to-date on developments in this area. Right now under “Pool” we have posted a draft of a design that Parks is currently working on.
