for Adults

There are swimming programs for adults here on South Whidbey.  We do hope to develop some that will focus on our seniors.  Swimming is really one of the best exercises for them.   For information on our big project, an affordable place to expand aquatics programs for all,  check out our “Pool page.”

1. SW Masters: A masters group swims at the Island Athletic Club. multiple times each week.   More info can be found on the Island Athletic Club website under ‘Masters Swimming.’  Club membership is not required; you can buy a pass for Masters only.

2. Many folks swim in the lakes and the the sound from spring until fall.  Folks post when they are swimming on the Facebook page ‘Whidbey Open Water Swimmers.’  Feel free to join them!

3.  2014 Open Water Swimming Clinics: Open water swimming presents unique challenges over swimming in a pool. Swimming in the lakes and salt water surrounding South Whidbey is a delightful experience when the challenges of open water are safely managed. Whether you are a new swimmer, a triathlete, or interested in endurance swimming, come learn techniques or refresh your skills for mastering the open water. Enjoy ‘swimming in your own backyard!’
